Aside from playing games what else can you use Nintendo’s little plastic fantastic DS for? Beats of course. Not the kind of beats you give the annoying idiot sat next to you, but the kind of beats you shake your rump to at the local disco. Don’t worry readers, one day I too will evolve out of the 80s, I’m long over due. Back to the story though now. What I am basically describing is a MIDI step sequencer for the DS. It’s nicely done and appears to work well. In the video the DS is hooked up to a Nord Micro Modular. Considering I owned one at one point it’s weird seeing it filed under “vintage synth” already (really, I need to evolve into the future). For those interested in playing with this software and hardware you can download schematics and software from here. For those satisfied with a demonstration you can just watch the video below.

It’s full of little gems like this one. Click the image to see it large and have a look at what the developers have to say about the Wii’s internet browsing capability. Seems like they managed to fulfill one of their biggest ambitions. Well done the developers.

a Wii that is. I hugged it for a while before I played on it. Of course that was after hugging my girlfriend for getting it for me. It’s fun. Great fun. Too much fun. Hold all my calls. Put other projects on hold. I may be some time here, waving technology at other technology with a big grin on my face. Today I purchase Zelda: Twilight Princess. From there we’ll see what games are next. I notice that the release line up is looking rather alluring. I also see that my spare time is rather sparse. Damn work and the time it takes up. It just gets in the way of things really. But work is the only thing allowing me to enjoy my free time. That’s the curse of money. Damn money. No wait, don’t damn it. Give me more. Yes, and plenty of it. The amount defined by “plenty” can be worked out using the following equation:
Plenty = annual salary * years I have left to live
You may of course substitute “years left to live” with “years until retirement”. That would kind of complete a large chunk of my life, allowing me to get on with more important things, like the rest of my life for example. *SIGH*
