More beats for your meats

Hot off the back of my previous post comes more beat related information. We’re still in the realm of step sequencing and we’re also staying within the fields of some home baked goodness. At the heart of this creation lies an Arduino, something I quite fancy getting myself one of these days. Using a series of dip switches you set the drum pattern and the rest of the magic is simply woven around you. Ooooh magic. I love it so. If you’re curious and would like to make one yourself then you can find the full schematics and source for this kit on this site. As usual Uttershite does provide some ocular stimulus for those who just want to see the thing in action. Break it down!

Missile shoot satellite - the musical

Remember that  satellite in its decaying orbit? Remember the hoo-ha about shooting it down? Remember watching the video of the event? Remember it being a bit bland? Well remember no more as we now bring you the self same video in musical form. Adding a musical score to the event livens it up somewhat. Add in a smattering of 3D and voila: a work of art!

LED messages

Happy Valentine’s day to those who ventured upon these sacred pages today. If you’re here after the 14th February then I’m afraid you missed Valentine’s day 2008. Awwww. Don’t cry just yet because I have something to cheer you up! To mark this momentous day Uttershite is happy to bring you the “Peggy” light emitting pegboard kit. For those of you who have watched adverts around Christmas time it may seem awfully familiar to the Lite-Brite children’s toy. Of course “Peggy” has a bit more of an adult feel to it. In essence it’s a giant board with little holes in it into which you can insert any LEDs of your choosing. When you add some juice (in the form of three D sized batteries - Duracell add placement!) it’ll light up and the world (or at least those near you) will see your wonderful illuminated message. Careful where you use it though as similar things have actually caused bombscares. Uttershite also feels that it should advise on your choice of message. I know it’s valentine’s day and all but you have to be careful on how you formulate your message. Especially when you are short on space and need to employ some inventive abbreviations.

I’m just not sure that “Happy Venereal Disease” is really a good message to use when advertising your product. Just saying, that’s all…
